Hey Dad!

Hello all,

Long time no blogging!

We have had so much going on the home front for the past couple of months that I haven't had a chance to craft.  I really needed to spend some time doing jobs around the house and garden that I have been putting off for quite a while now.

I've also been spending some time reorganising my craft space and have been on the hunt for some different and decorative storage ideas for the the bits and pieces that I have accumulated along the way. It has proved quite time consuming!  I will share some photos with you all soon.

Its Father's Day here in Australia this weekend so I thought that I would use this week's sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch to knock up a couple of cards for the dads in the family.  I bought the Boob Tubes stamp set from Paper Smooches a few months ago with Father's Day cards in mind.  Love all the little TVs in this set :)

September marks the start of a whole heap of birthdays around here, right up until Christmas Eve.  I will have to make a start on some cards so will have some more shares on the way.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Shoot For The Stars

Hi All,

Its been a very busy and stressful week at work and I am so glad that tomorrow is Friday!

Before making my card for this weeks CAS(E) this Sketch challenge I thought that I would give my work space a bit of a tidy up.  Hiding under a whole load of scrap paper I found some cork sheets.  I already had in mind what I was going to make but when I discovered these sheets, I thought that it would be a good idea to stamp my dart board image onto the cork.  I think it looks pretty good....even if I do say so myself ;)

Fusion #11

Hi All,

Quick post tonight with a card share for this weeks Fusion challenge.

This week I used Jackie's sketch.  I cut a piece of card stock into four separate pieces the spaced them apart and stamped the image.  I then matted those pieces with some brown card stock and stamped the the sentiment....quick crookedly lol.

Welcome Baby

Hi All,

Just a quick post before I have to get my butt into gear and start to get ready for work.

I'm playing along in this week's Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge.  Apologies for the photo but it was taken late afternoon and we were starting to lose light.  I used the elephant image from A Little Lovin' set and paper pieced the mother and baby then used a sentiment from the same set.  I'll have to make another one up with a pink bubby for my stash

Well I better get myself moving.

Wishing You Sunshine

Hi All,

Hope you all had a great weekend.  Mine went too fast as usual :(

Another quick share tonight for this week's CASology challenge.....yellow.  For this card I thought that I would try out some ombre stamping.  I used a stamp from Mama Elephant's Filigree set and inked it up in a few different shades of yellow and finished it off with a sentiment from ME So Breezy.

Dream Then Do

Hi All,

Happy Saturday!  Quick share today as I'm just about to head out.

Here is my entry into this weeks challenge over at Retro Sketches.  I absolutely love this stamp, its so pretty.  I used some patterned paper from October Afternoon for the ribbon, matted the main image with chocolate chip card stock and stamped the image and sentiment with chocolate chip ink.

Well I better get moving.

Best Wishes

Hi All,

Time again for another CAS(E) this Sketch share.

I've been hoarding away rolls of washi tape but for some reason I don't think to use it!  So I pulled out a roll to use on this card, to bring in a bit of colour to the neutral pallet.  I inked up the dogwood stamp from Hero Arts Antique Flowers and Butterflies set and the sentiment is from Mama Elephant's Filigree set.

Fusion Card Challenge #10

Hi All,

Dropping in tonight to share the card that I will be linking up to the current Fusion Challenge.  I used Jackie's layout but drew inspiration from the house in Lesley's photo.  The house has a very beachy feel to it so I used some pattern paper from My Minds Eye.  When I looked at it I immediately thought of a boardwalk.  I then die cut the little bird houses from Wplus9's Folk Art Florals and adhered them to the card.

Looking at the photo, the last house looks a little crooked...best go fix it up!

Anyways, I'm going to head off now to catch up on the season finale of Game of Thrones.

Oh.Em.Gee

Hi All,

I have a few Saturated Canary digi images on my computer and every time that I open them up to decide which one I want to colour up, I change my mind.  I find them a bit intimidating, I think its because they are quite detailed with lots of folds and pleats and I usually only colour up fairly basic images with lots of open space.

But today I decided that I would challenge myself to print one out and colour it up.  I decided on Rollerskating Zombie, as she was the one with a lot less folds that the others.  It took me three goes, but I did it lol!  And I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.  I then adhered her to a card and thought that I would link it up to CASology.

Love Always

Hi All,

I'm back again to share the card that I am linking up to this weeks Muse Challenge, and this week's muse is Laurie Willson.  I love the colours that Laurie used and also the repeat stamping.  Those are the two elements that I decided to work with.  All the stamps used are from Mama Elephant's Filigree stamp set and are inked up with Papertrey Ink's Harvest Gold.

For You

Hi All,

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.  I've had a pretty lazy one so far but I'll have to start getting stuck into some things around the house.

Here is my take on this weeks sketch at Retro Sketches.  I spun the sketch around, used some stamps from Mama Elephant (Type It) and pattern paper from My Minds Eye.  I just can't seem to stop using Mama Elephants stamps....they are awesome!

While I was making this card I had a light bulb moment....old typewriters used daisy wheels, so I will also be linking it up to this weeks challenge over at CASology, the cue card being wheels.

Well I better make a start on some housework *groan*.

Thinking of You

Hi All,

Wow....two posts in one day!

This will just be a quick one to share my entry into this weeks CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.  I'm cutting it pretty fine this week, only a couple of hours to go!  I flipped the sketch around and used the kite image and sentiment from Hero Arts Thinking of You Kite stamp set and embossed the cardstock with a Papertrey Ink impression plate.

Hello Sweet Baby

Hi All,

I hope that everyone had (or is having) a great weekend.  What was supposed to be a quite one for me turned out to be quite hectic, but it was awesome catching up with friends and spending some well deserved quality time with my husband.

Just a quick post tonight to share with you all the card I am linking up to CASology, this week's cue card is Furry.  I coloured up these two cute little digi images from Sweet November (Safari Pals) with my copics and used a sentiment from Technique Tuesday's Sweet Baby stamp set stamped in chocolate chip ink from Stampin' Up.  This would have to be my all time favourite brown ink pad.  I'm not sure if you can tell from this photo but the little lion is popped up on some dimensional adhesive to add some depth.

Well it's just about my bed time so I best be off.

I hope you all have a fabulous week and thanks for stopping by :)

Thank You

Hi All,

I have decided to play along with the current Muse Challenge.  This is another challenge which is a first for me.

This week's Muse is Michelle Williams.  I love the folk art style cards that are so popular at the moment so I bought the Wplus9 Folk Art Florals stamp set and dies with the intention of trying it out.  I have only used the set and dies on a couple of cards but haven't actually tried the folk art style stamping.  Michelle's card has inspired me to give it a go.  I used the stamps to create a heart wreath and rather that put a sentiment in the centre, I die cut the cute little bird house and popped it in the centre instead.  I then stamped the sentiment underneath.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Use A Wryn

Hi All,

Challenge time again at Tiddly Inks, create a project using a Wryn image.  That wasn't too hard for me as have I quite a lot of the Wryn digi images.

This card is also doubling up as my entry into this weeks Retro Sketches challenge.  CAS cards, nice and simple....makes me happy lol.

Hope you all have a great day.

CAS(E) this Sketch #29

Hi All,

It's never too early to start making Christmas cards so I used this weeks sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch to get a jump start.  I dusted of the Snowflake Flurries stamp set from Papertrey Ink and finally inked them up.  I got this set before Christmas last year but for some reason didn't use them.

An attempt at a one layer card failed miserably (as it usual does for me!) but I managed to save it by adding some patterned paper and a panel of snowflakes over top.  Still not 100% happy with how it turned out but because I ended up spending so much time on it, I didn't want to bin it lol.

Kiss Me

Hi All,

Well another weekend has come and gone in a blink of an eye.  If only the working week were the same.

I have been following the CASology blog for some time now and decided that it was about time that I played along.  This week's cue card is Royal.  I pulled out my Paper Smooches "A Little Lovin" stamp set and inked up the frog and crown image.  As the saying goes...you have to kiss a lot frogs before you find your prince.

Hope you all have a fantastic week and thanks for stopping by :)

Happiness

Hi All,

Another week, another CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge.

I just can't seem to stop using the Mama Elephant stamps that have recently found their way into my stash.  I'm just loving them!  I just placed another order a couple of days ago so a few more are on their way to me as we speak :)

We still haven't invested in a new DSLR so I have been borrowing my daughters lately.  A good camera makes all the difference but I am having trouble finding good lighting in my house.  I'll just keep trying different places at different times of the day until I find the perfect balance so please bear with me....trial and error.

Felicity

Hi All,

I have some news to share with you all today.  I am now a member of the Angie Delarie Design Team!

For my first project I made a bottle tag with one of Angie's new digi's, Felicity from the 50's and paired her up with a sentiment from WPlus9's Folk Art Florals stamp set.

You should all head on over to Angie's blog to check out all the projects from the talented DT members and while you are there, have a look at all of Angie's unique digital images.

Hi All,

You should do yourself a favour and check out the Mama Elephant blog to get sneak peak of their current release.  I've got my eye on one already!

Happy Mother's Day

Hi All,

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful mum's out there.  I hope you all had a wonderful day and got spoilt rotten.

Would you believe that after all my rushing around yesterday to make a card and get it posted on my blog before the retrosketch challenge closed, I forgot to actually link it up to the challenge!  And it didn't dawn on me until last night....oh well.

I have been following the Fusion Card Challenge blog since it started but haven't played along yet.  So I decided to have a go this week.  I used Jackie's sketch but changed it up a bit.

Anyways, it been a big day here today and I think its just about time for bed.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Retrosketches #62

Hi All,

Dropping in quickly with a card that I have just finished.  I'm leaving it very last minute for Mother's Day this year.  I still have to get my mother and mother-in-law their pressies and it is almost 2:00 pm here in Brisbane.....eek!

I used the current sketch from retrosketch #62 for the layout of this card and will be entering it into this week's challenge.

Anyways, I better get myself off to the shops.

Hope you all have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Hello My Pretty

Hi All,

I'm dropping in today to share with you all my entry into Tiddly Inks current challenge.  You have to create a project using a movie or book as inspiration.  I've used The Wizard Of Oz as my inspiration for this card.  I coloured up Whitchy Wryn's face in green just like the Wicked Witch of the West and had the idea to cover her shoes peeking out from the gown with some red stickles to resemble Dorothy's ruby shoes.  I also used up some Graphic 45 The Magic of Oz paper that I had in my stash.

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Thanks for stopping by :)

CASE Study DT Challenge

Hi All,

So CASE Study are looking for new design team members and I thought......why not give it a go!

You are to create a project inspired by your own Muse, the challenge being to step out of your comfort zone.  But who to choose?  The are so many wonderfully talented women out there!  So after a lot of thought I decided to go with Laurie Willison.

Here's my card:

And this is Laurie's card:

Although they are very similar, one layer cards are quite a challenge for me.  I love them and have been inspired numerous times by lots of different paper crafters but for some reason I just can't seem to pull them off.  Many a card has ended up in the bin!  So when I came across this post on Laurie's blog I thought I'd give the one layered card another go.  And I'm glad I did cause I'm really happy with how it turned out.  I'm also glad that I challenged myself again on something that I had pretty much give up on.  I resisted the urge to layer....yay!

And who knows, you might even see a few more in the future.

Thanks for stopping by.

CAS(E) This Sketch #24

Hi All,

I am dropping in tonight to share my entry into this week's CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.  Let me tell you, this card was epic!  Nothing was going right for me!  Has anyone else had that problem?  By the time I got it finished it was dark so I apologise for the bad photo.  I just wanted to get the photo taken and start preparing for the working week ahead.

Thanks for stopping by.

Totally Stoked

Hi All,

I just wanted to drop in and share a card that I made for the current CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.  The patterned paper I used here reminded me of an older style skateboard so I think I fits in really well with the overall theme of the card.

Heartfelt Wishes

Hi All,

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

I'm popping in tonight to share my entry into WP9 Monday Mood Board #8.  This will be my first time entering this challenge as this is another blog that I just recently stumbled across (today to be exact!).  I have a few of their stamp stamp sets and dies and I just love them.  In this card I used the Folk Art Florals stamps and dies.  That little bird house is just adorable.

I used the current sketch from retrosketch #59 for the layout of the card and will also be playing along with that challenge.

Thanks for stopping by :)
